let me just update on everything with some pics.

the start of it all...lol

i cut all my hair off. decided to start OVER.

When I started off freshman year, I was a Nursing major. Well I changed it. lol. It was really too much. No point in trying to get into a major and they only accept 30 or so people and half the campus are Nursing majors. So now I am a Mass Communications major with a focus on broadcast technology. Hopefully I'll fun with this seeing its something I like doing (editing videos)

My GPA isn't where I want it to be, but its getting there. I have alot of big things set up for me, hopefully I can make it happen. Just have to focus and remain calm.]

Oh and I do attend the GREAT Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, FL. and I am currently a Marching Wildcat of the P.R.I.D.E..

hey!

its been a while since I've been on here so I've decided to make a post updating you!

-I just finished my first year in college. I attend Bethune-Cookman University on a band scholarship. I wanna say it was stressful but that would worry some incoming freshman. Ahh what the hell, your first year is how you make it. For me, since I was doing marching band and school, it was quite stressful but I had fun along the way. My grades are OK. but not how I want them to be. I have a something special I want to do by spring semester, so I need to keep my grades and GPA up.

I went to the club for the first time EVER lol. Yea, I know, I should've went when I was in high school. But no, I was a sheltered child lol. Here's a picture of me at my first club event.

My mom adopted a dog from her co-worker. His name is Taylor and he's my baby! He's a lil spoiled dog but only because I think he deserves the best.

I'm currently home for the summer and my mom almost had a FIT because of all the stuff I brought home, and half of it's in storage in Daytona! I have yet to un-pack my clothes and I got home on May 5th lol. One day I'll get to it lol I just want to enjoy what peace and quiet I have now.

( i understand I've been on hiatus for while...but I'm back for a few days. I just wanted to share with you some of my thoughts that's been rambling around my mind since the last time i blogged. I posted this on facebook, and i decided to bring it on here to share with yall. )

there's a certain thing that i look for.

something that kept me happy for oh so long and i never once shared a sad face.

although there's a B I G difference in WANTING and NEEDING, i still WANT && NEED that feeling back.

i need that thing called Love.

Yes i finally went home! I wish i would of taken pictures but I was sooo busy I was able to take my infamous webcam pics on my bed with the steel bars lol

Alot has happened since my last post! I got my cartilages pierced!

and they did hurt! lol but I took the pain!

and my hair is growing! before my ends were at the bottom of my ear, now its touching my shoulder! I am taking better care of it too. I use Aussie Shampoo and their 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner and after all that, I blow dry it and flat iron and don't use anymore heat until I wash my hair again.

Sorry about the lack of posting, I've just been busy with my first year of school and band. but I'll be ok!

my hair after i took the braids out, and washed it. My roommate flat ironed it for me!

remember when I said I was going natural??? well that quest has ended. =(

I haven't had a perm for 5 months and out of those 5 months, I had braids for 2 months and my hair was very unmanagable considering I'm in Florida with all this heat and humidity. So i got the perm lol. But I am going to take better care of my hair.

In this picture, my hair is in 2 big braids and I kind of like this. It looks natural, like I'm not trying to too hard to look cute or something lol

here are some things NOT to do as a college freshman.

I've been at Bethune-Cookman for about a month now, and I noticed some things as the incoming freshman started coming in up until now. (I'm in the band and band freshman had to come a week earlier than everyone else)

1. Don't come the first day looking for a "boo thang". You barely know these people. You don't know their past either so just get to know them as friends first.

2. Be sure you are financially cleared so that you will be able to register for classes. You don't want to end up paying some money when it was already due and not get the classes you want. and be sure to take more than 14 hours. I'm taking 17 hours now as a full time student/band member.

3. Get classes that fit into you curriculum. -enough said.

4. Go to ALL your classes everyday. You don't want to fall behind too far.

5. LADIES: DO NOT WEAR HEELS TO AN 8 AM CLASS.

6. Dress comfortably. Not for someone else.

7. If you end up getting a refund check, don't blow it on materialistic items ie. a car, an apartment. Because in the end of the semester, you're going to half to pay alllllll that back. Use it on books, a laptop, things you may need and little stuff that you want.

That's just a few for now. I've seen all these things happen so I just want to let all incoming freshman for NEXT year know what to do. =)

Most of yall probably don't know that I am in a long distance relationship with my first love.

when i say first love, I actually mean FIRST LOVE.

We've been dating for a year and 2 months but we've known each other for a long time. Before I came to Cookman, alot of people, including my mom, was asking me what were we going to do? Stay together? Break up? WHAT?!?!?

Well, I decided to stay with him. I've been through alot with him and giving all that up would've just been a waste of my year and 2 months.

( us as friends )

Right now, we are in an open relationship and so far its going well. These boys down here aint worth breaking up a happy home. But everyday I think about him. I REALLY MISS HIM! lol and I won't be able to feel his touch or kiss his soft lips until November. And I know I came down here for an education, but I'm starting off OUR life together. So I guess I'll suck it up, and wait to see him. I hope the wait is worth it.

For most freshman, they're there to go to school. but for me, I'm there for school AND the band. And all this is

taking a toll on me physically and emotionally. I really wanna just go home. I wanna lay in my own bed in my

own room. Not saying that I don't like my roommate cuz I do. But I guess I wasn't ready for this college life.

Maybe this will all get better in the long run. who knows. but right now...I just wanna go home.

Tomorrow, I will be an official college student! And I only have 2 classes tomorrow! thank god! Here's my schedule as follows:

On Mondays and Wednesdays:

College English: 8:00 am-9:00 am

Math: 11:40 am-12:40 pm

On Fridays I take those same classes and in between I take

Freshman Seminar: 10:20 am-11:20 am

On Tuesdays and Thursdays:

Psychology: 8:00 am-9:30 am

Reading: 11:20 am-12:50 pm

African American History: 1:00 pm-2:30 pm

And everday I have band practice from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm lol

In all I have 17 credit hours! I have just about a full load! So I'm going to be busy! I hope I'll be able to post soon. =/. Wish me luck!

i am in total surprise to this year's BET Awards. After last year's stunt, i vowed to never watch the awards EVER. but i caved in. hehe. and i decided to watch it. When i heard Queen Latifah was hosting it, i thought it wasn't going to be funny at all. but as i watched her with the opening performance, i was dazzled! I LOVE IT! i laughed, i cried, i wanted to rewind it and watch over again! (but i don't have TiVo nor DVR lol) and it had me glued from then on.

What really made the icing on the cake was Chris Brown's Michael Jackson Tribute. I thought he should've done something last year, despite his personal life. Chris Brown did an EXCELLENT job with the tribute! Job well done! and to all the people that say he faked the crying...SCREW YOU! =)

I cannot possibly see someone do a tribute so emotional and so hard-working and so brilliant be a publicity stunt. I almost cried! and if it was a publicity stunt, then MJ's family wouldn't have let him do it. Jermaine wouldn't have gotten on that stage to personally introduce CB for the performance. this performance made the so-called "tributes look like hot boo-boo garbage..

Overall, BET did a GREAT job with this awards show. =)

So, since I've graduated, I've been doing nothing but blogging and doing hair lol. I've decided to go all natural for the rest of the year. and I'm gonna try and read this summer too. For yall that don't know, I am going to Bethune-Cookman University on a band scholarship. Yes, I play an instrument lol. I've also taught myself how to play another instrument too! (the piccolo).

today is the day i FINALLY graduate from high school! *clap clap clap* <---thank you! you are TOO kind!

(i had a bad break out on my forehead, sorry this was taken a while ago lol)

this week was a very sad week. Last year i lost a "new friend" on April 28th and i lost a elementary school friend this year on April 29th. These deaths were too close together. But lately, i've been thinking about death. And everyday this week i've been thinking "what if tomorrow is my turn to go?" honestly, im quite afraid of death. I'm scared to leave this earth and my family, friends, and the love of my life. Although i haven't reached what i call a "successful life", i still wanna meet the people who are suppose to walk through my life. I know that everything happens for a reason, and God has a plan for everyone, but what do you think he has planned for you?

every year in April for the past 2 years, someone i either went to elementary school with or i knew in high school, passed away. And this guy right here, was killed early this morning, shot by some human being who wasn't raised properly. Then this human being decided to show up to school today like nothing happened. So, i'm saying this because tomorrow's NOT promised. The people in your life now, will be there forever. Your friends, enemies, associates, and most importantly, your family. I've come to the realization that i LOVE music. i play the clarinet and might i add, my skills are taking me to my future. although i don't plan on doing music when i get older, i do plan on keeping my skills going because i want my kids to play an instrument like their mother and their father (my boyfriend) lol

i feel that everyone should be connected to music in some sort of way. whether the music is classical (Mozart), country, hard rock or hip hop, it all speaks to someone.

this video right here is my school's band. and if you fast forward to 2:24, that's me playing.

that little solo got me many scholarship offers.

and it even widened the scholarship offer i have to my #1 school Tennessee State University.

so i say everyone embrace different types of music. and learn to play the drums or the flute or something. it will take you a long way.

i actually like this song and the dancers in the beginning did a good job dancing to this song. idk if i like the whole group thing because while everyone is doing the same dance, everyone still is doing the dance in a different way. I'm not going to lie....i can't dance =(. but i do want to learn how to. when i was little i took ballet lessons and i want to pick those back up again.

i got accepted to Albany State University in Albany, Georgia the other day! my daddy decided to take me shopping the other day. i recommend that if you want some cute flats, you should go to Payless shoe store. They have some nice flats for every girl. like the ones below...

these shoes are a brand of American Eagle PAYLESS! ( not affiliated with American Eagle Outfitters, and they tell you that on the shoe box ) they may be fake but they are some cute shoes.

and these are the two of three of my favorite men in the world! my boyfriend (left) and my youngest (and only) brother (right). i really don't know why they both chose to look like that. if it was up to me, I'd make them take a picture with them smiling. =D

yesterday, i got prepared for auditions for the Tennessee State University marching band. the director thought i went to the school i auditioned at....well here's part of the convo:

Director: ok so you go to Miller Grove and...

Me: oh no i go to Stephenson (i was the only one from my school to go)

Director: OH!! you're the young lady @QuisCouture told me about!

Me: (acting like i didn't know anything) uh yes i am lol

so i played some music for him. and he looked impressed. after that he said:

Director: i tell most students that i hope to see you in the fall, im telling YOU im looking FORWARD to seeing you in the fall.

And from those words right there, i officially became a Tennessee State University Tiger.
